“Bridging the Gap”

Player Profile

Our player profile is a mixture of the USTA’s High-Performance Profile with a tennis movement screen that is ideal in the identification of tennis-specific weaknesses and imbalances.  This in-depth process is a rare feature to our program that would be hard to find anywhere else.

Off-Court Strength and Conditioning

Individualized strength training programs are an integral part in the growth and advancement of any player.  After taking a player through a profile, a player-specific program is designed to focus on performance enhancement and injury prevention.  Volume, mode, and intensity of training is dependent upon upcoming tournaments, time of year, and player ability and availability.

High-Intensity On-Court Tennis Movement Training

To optimally prepare a player for on-court performance, we created a program that is specific to match point length and recovery with varying levels of intensity.  Players are physically challenged to improve their  tennis-specific muscular and anaerobic endurance, while incorporating on-court movements and shot making.

Group/Class Training

Each group and/or class that we work with starts with a tennis-specific dynamic warm-up.  This preparation is one of the key factors in keeping our players injury-free and performing at a high level.  Our goal in larger group settings is to help introduce and teach the foundations of training.  We focus on muscular control/coordination, total body movements, agility, quickness, and core/trunk stabilization and strength.

Testing/Evaluation

Understanding the performance levels of our players is fundamental in the structuring of their training programs.  We routinely administer some basic speed, agility, quickness, and power tests, which can easily be completed in large groups with minimal time and space.  These tests give us a nice gauge of our player’s progressions, and create a wonderful research/tracking tool for our program.
